Descriptions

Chester Blackberry gives you everything you want from a backyard blackberry — huge, sweet, juicy fruit — without the scratches. The thornless canes make harvesting a pleasure, and the plant itself is the hardiest thornless blackberry you can grow, handling Zone 5 winters with ease. Expect a generous crop of large, high-quality berries ripening in July, and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a variety that naturally resists cane blight. At 4–6 feet, it's manageable in most backyards and well worth the space for the flavor alone.
